Self Study Program 96 – SKODA Octavia III Presentation of the vehicle Part I

VAG SSP 96. The first Octavia was manufactured in the Mlada Boleslav car factory in 1959 as the eighth model in the model series – which its name Octavia was derived from. As compared with its predecessor, ŠKODA 440 (familiarly referred to as Spartak), the first Octavia had a modified front body grill and modernized front axle. Leaf springs were substituted with coiled springs with telescopic absorbers. It was a reliable and easily controllable car. Thus, Octavia celebrated success on the domestic market as well as abroad and it was assembled overseas as well.
