Self Study Program 488 – The Passat 2011

VAG SSP 48. In its seventh generation, the new Passat has been perfected in terms of comfort, quality and safety attributes as well as in the range of driver assistance systems offered.

Straight lines, clearly structured surfaces and dynamic proportions distinguish the design of the new generation saloon and estate.

New experiences in comfort are achieved by the rear seat system that can be released from the luggage compartment, a trailer hitch that folds out at the press of a button, noise insulating laminated safety glass for the windscreen and front side windows and 2nd generation park assist steering system.

Highly efficient and eco-friendly TSI engines, TDI CR lightweight engines, a natural gas powered engine and an engine of the newest generation that can be powered with up to 85% ethanol in the vehicle.

Engine downsizing, the start-stop system and regenerative braking facilitate a significant saving in fuel consumption during operation.

The Front Assist system with automatic City Emergency Brake (braking function) and the Fatigue Detection System are new and progressive functions in the area of safety.

With its high level of quality, the new Passat generation bridges a gap to the next highest vehicle category.
