Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do if multiple warning lights come on at once?
Multiple simultaneous lights often indicate a loss of battery voltage (common during a jump-start or after a battery replacement). If it occurs while driving without those causes, safely pull over — a major electrical fault may be occurring.
Can I drive with the Check Engine light on?
If it is steady (not flashing), you can typically drive to a workshop. If it is flashing, an active misfire is occurring — stop driving immediately to prevent catalytic converter damage. Always read the code first.
Why did my ABS light come on but brakes feel normal?
ABS faults disable the anti-lock feature only — normal friction braking remains fully functional. You can drive carefully to a workshop, but avoid situations requiring emergency braking where ABS would otherwise activate.
My service light came on but I just had a service — why?
The service reminder usually requires manual reset after a service. Many shops forget to reset it, or it resets on a mileage/time counter. Consult your manual to reset it yourself — it typically takes under a minute.
