Self Study Program 533 – The Polo 2015

VAG SSP 533. You will find more information on both the technology and the CrossPolo and Polo BlueGT models in the rest of this Self-study Programme.

At first glance, the new Polo doesn’t appear to have changed much. Visually, the front and rear sections have been redesigned in detail. If you take a second look, the newest generation of the Polo has been comprehensively redeveloped and in terms of technical components, is now oriented towards the “modular transverse matrix” concept.

The drives have been completely redesigned and all engines meet the EU6 emission standard. New three-cylinder turbo diesel engines with varying performance levels as well as the new petrol engine in conjunction with dual clutch gearboxes reduce consumption by up to 21 per cent.

Several convenience and safety technologies which were introduced with the Golf 2013 can be found in the new Polo too. The multicollision brake is now also included as standard. The driver assist systems, such as the Driver Alert System, the Front Assist area monitoring system with City Emergency Brake and the adaptive cruise control are optional features.

The second generation modular infotainment module (MIB) with its specially adapted radio and radio navigation system is state-of-the-art.

New electromechanical power steering improves braking properties and for the first time, features an optional “Sport Select” running gear. Electronically switchable dampers can be controlled at the touch of a button.
