Self Study Program 521 – The Golf GTI GTD 2013

VAG SSP 521. For more than 30 years now, the Golf GTI has been the embodiment of sportiness and superior driving dynamics. For the first time, it is now available in two performance levels. The newly developed turbo TSI direct petrol injection engine with 162 kW in combination with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and a reduction in weight of all assembly groups have allowed the fuel consumption to be reduced by 18% compared to its predecessor.

The TSI engine has a maximum power of 169 kW in the GTI “Performance”. The equipment featured in the new Golf GTD and its sporty tuning are based on the Golf GTI 2013. The power output of the latest generation of four cylinder TDI engines is 135 kW. In  combination with a 6-speed manual gearbox, the average fuel consumption is equivalent to 4.2 l per 100 kilometres and the COemissions equivalent to 109 g/km.

The two resulting vehicles represent sportiness, dynamics and innovation, as well as economic efficiency and environmental friendliness.
