Ford C6 – ATSG (Automatic Transmission Service Group)
The C-6 transmission was first introduced in September 1965, for the 1966 model Ford, Mercury and Lincoln car lines. This transmission has gone through many engineering changes, so you must be careful when interchanging parts. With the introduction of diesel engines installed in front of the C-6 transmission, there were changes to the valve body and the governor. These parts are examples of non-interchangeable components. This repair manual covers the procedures necessary to repair and overhaul this transmission.
